La Muerte Costume

This is Mia, she is 9 years old and has been begging for this costume since last year. With last year's movie the book of life and one of its Bain character La Muerte she was determined to wear something like what she saw in the movie. We decided to take a different approach to it using only black white and red.

My daughter is wearing the costume, the dress was purchased at TJmax for$39.99 her flower head piece was $9.99 at Hot Topic, accessories and makeup ran about $50.00 at party city. Other make up and make up brushes were from Walgreens $30.00 Body jewels were purchased at Claire's boutique at $7.50 a pack you will need at least 2 incase you lose any jewels along the way.

Make up took 3 hours, she is 9 so it is hard to keep her still. I only use white powder no white body paint was used. For the lines on the mouth and forehead I used liquid eyeliner, the eyes were filled in with a mix of black and burgundy glitter shadow it takes at least 3 coats. The petals around the eyes were done with regular black liner, colored in with red paint and lined again with black glitter liner. On the lips I used the same red paint the stitches were black liquid eye liner. The nose was lined with eyeliner but filled in with black paint.
