This homemade costume for couples entered our 2012 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Lupe, the 'King Triton and the Little Mermaid' costume creator:
My boyfriend Justin is king Triton for the night. Well I was Ariel and he didn't want to be the prince so he opted for the king. I put this costume together for him. Because he didn't want to wear a girly mermaid tail I made him a "manly" fin lol the body of the tail is made out of aquamarine spandex fabric, the fin is made out of sparkled mesh fabric. The crown is made out of 2cm foam paper which I traced, spray painted and hot glued on to a head band in order for it to stay on the wig. The cuffs are also 2cm foam paper, I trace, cut, spray painted and hot glued together. From head to toe: gold crown, white 20inc hair wig, white beard, muscle shirt, tail, nude sandals, small triton and of course his sidekick sebastian. The cost was maybe $200 give or take.
