This homemade costume for men entered our 2020 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Diego, the 'Hades' costume creator:
My costume is Hades. I wanted to create my own version of one of my favorite Disney Villains. The garnet was easy to construct by just draping black mesh over a mannequin to create the toga. The headpiece took almost a full year to come up with. Originally I wanted to create a moving flame headpiece. I experimented with a fan and fabric to create flames, but it was noisy and the fabric wouldn’t work properly. So I ended up sculpting the flames out of a plastic and adding lights to it.
