This homemade costume for families entered our 2016 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Bryan, the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' costume creator:
Guardians of the Galaxy characters. The Groot costume was handmade with pipe insulation and EVA foam, tissue mache, lots of glue and paint and quite a few hours of detailing! I'm 6'7" so no platform shoes or stilts needed. Gamora costume was from stuff in the closet and a couple of fabric items to make the knife holder and sleeves. Kids costumes (Rocket and Starlord) were purchased since we spent too much time on the other costumes! Idea came from Pinterest - and my wife is quite creative - I can't believe she pulled it off!
