Goblin King and Toby Costume

After just having a baby in August, I had limited time to think of a costume.

I was going to do something store bought for my son until I had a conversation where my step dad said that I used to drive him crazy by insisting we watch Labyrinth 3 times a day, every day during most of my childhood. I had I came up with the idea to recreate my favorite childhood movie for my children.

My daughter as "Toby" is wearing simple Christmas striped pajamas with a sticker over the santa that reads "Hello my name is Toby". I wanted to keep it simple since she's still a newborn.

As for my son, The Goblin King/Jareth, I took a simple 2T white button down and added ruffles and lace with my sewing machine. I paired it with Grey wool pants that are meant to be a diaper cover for cloth diapers, but leggings would work too! I found the jacket and boots at a local thrift store and made just minor adjustments to them. I toped it off with a blonde glam-rock wig and make up (and getting a 2 year old to sit through make up is a challenge all it's own).

When I look at this picture, it reminds me of my childhood and makes me smile!
