A word from Greg, the 'Frida Kahlo' costume creator:
Hi, I'm Greg and this year i went as Frida Kahlo. I have been saving this idea for 10 years and this year I had a wedding to attend on 10/31 so I decided to finally conjure her up. She is iconic for her art and looks and is one of my favs. Since I feel Halloween always has to be a little spooky I added the anatomical heart to my outfit in homage to one of her famous paintings. I bought all of the clothes & jewelry at thrift stores for under $100 and got the heart at a Halloween store. I did splurge on the hair and had this amazing women at a wig shop make it for me so it was perfect. I affixed the rubber heart to my shirt w/double sided fabric tape and then sewed a few parts of it on the back so it would fix. I also got fake blood (the kind that dries) at a Halloween store. I did the make up myself - the unibrow is a must for Frida.
