This homemade costume for women entered our 2012 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Donna, the 'Elton John' costume creator:
I made this costume for myself and won First Place at the local Tavern. There are 4 battery operated light sets in the jacket and coat(which means I had 16 AA batteries on me LOL). (The pictures will be blurry of the lights) The shoes have been painted and glittered...as all Elton John shoes are LOL. I made the jacket, (which has piano keys on the cuffs), hat (yes from scratch), jabot, and pants. This costume lit up so brightly, everyone said I could've directed traffic in it LOL. Every year I try to out do myself, but this one is hard to top. Another note: this costume has recently gone through a devastating fire, but the person I loaned it to rescued it yet sacrificed her own personal belongings, phone, computer, etc. I cried when she returned it to me...I figured it was lost! We hugged, cried, and laughed. I'll be making her a costume every year if she wants one!!!
