This homemade costume for boys entered our 2014 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Jennifer, the 'Disney Planes Dusty and El Chupacabra' costume creator:

This year our twin boys wanted to be Dusty and El Chupacabra from Disney Planes. Aiden is wearing El Chupacabra and Luke is wearing Dusty. The costumes are completely home made, I used cardboard, camping mats, flannel, fleece fabric, plastic bowl for nose of plane and top to pump of windex for the nose of another plane. I sketched out the general shape on paper and then cut out cardboard and camping mat, next I covered all the parts in fabric and proceeded to glue the plane together for a 3 dimensional costume. Propellers were created using cardboard and covered in foam and duct tape then secured with a long screw, and washers. I used suspenders to create the straps to hold the costume on. All the details were modeled after the die cast Dusty and El Chupacabra. The overall cost was approximately between $20-50 for each plane. Aiden & Luke love their costumes and the smiles on their faces make it all worthwhile.

These were home made costumes for my twin boys. They are not made for purchase. Thanks for asking!

AMAZING!!!! This is pure genius. My son loves all things Planes. I see this was years ago but if you have any pictures of the process I would so appreciate it. This is absolutely magical. So impressed! Also, if your kids have outgrown any Planes toys I would love to purchase them from you. We can't find them anywhere since it's an older movie. :(

Hi Bridget,

Thank you for your kind words. Yes my kids have out grown them. I would love to sell them to you especially if you have kiddos who love Planes. They are now six years old so you may have to touch them up a bit.
