Dark Siren Costume

This was my daughters concept and my creation. The top is made from a repurposed bra that I covered in sequined lace and sea shells. The bigger shells were drilled and sewn on while the smaller shells were glued in place. The seaweed was added for a bit of modesty around her torso. The tail is made from Lycra stretch fabric and slit higher in back to allow easy walking. The fin is made from multiple layers of tulle and a layer of sequin lace. For the crown, I used a layer of thick craft foam to allow the shells to adhere with some cushion. The makeup was all her doing. She used a fishnet stocking to create the scales and applied some small crystals for added impact. The black contacts pulled it all together.
