Chia Pet Costume

This is Vinny, my sweet Brussels Griffon, modeling his
Chia Pet costume. I always try to make costumes that fit the dog's personality and looks, and Vinny's long legs just scream Chia Pet. I used terra cotta colored felt and made "pants" for his front and back legs - it takes about 14 people to get them on him, but once they're on, he's very comfortable and can do everything he does with his pants off! I started with a big circle of the same felt for the shell of the chia and just kept taking darts in it until it was the perfect shape and fit him like a glove. Then I got out the hot glue gun and started gluing the green stuff which was a plastic boxwood garland I took apart - it ended up taking 3 of them to cover the shell. He was very cooperative for his photo shoot and stood still and smiled. Thank you!
