Cheshire Cat and Mad Hatter Costume

I am wearing the Cheshire cat outfit, my husband is the mad hatter. I love these 2 characters from "Alice in Wonderland" and have always wanted to create them as costumes. These costumes are 100% handmade and about 80% including : cat wig with yarn I repurposed from a prior project , tutu skirt with tulle donated from a friend, leg and hand warmers, upcycled top I sewed yarn “ fur” on to, upcycled mad hatter hat made from random materials I had in my house, tie, Upcycled jacket donated to me that I drew all over to make it look “ mad and kooky”, upcycled thread bandolier and I did makeup for both of us as well. The wig alone took about 45 hours as each piece of yarn was cut in strips, the small threads that hold the yarn together were pulled out to make the yarn fluffy, and each individual piece was glue on and finally the wig was brushed out and trimmed. The mad hatter hat was made from found, previously used materials in my house! I have included several" works in progress " photos so you see how i made it.
