This homemade costume for boys entered our 2015 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Lisa, the 'Brutus Buckeye' costume creator:

Our Son Colton is wearing the costume. The idea came from being an advid Ohio State family. It took two weeks to fabricate, Mom's first sewing adventure. The costume did not take on life until Colton put it on and portrayed the character. The excitement came from seeing others reactions to it...with the exception of one grown man who booed him. Realy sir, it is a kids halloween costume! That did not prevent Colton from enjoying the halloween festivities. I just hope one day he could meet "THE BRUTUS BUCKEYE". Go Bucks!

What material did you use for the base? Is it contractor foam boards?

I still have the costume but its not for rent we have it on display in our home. I would be glad to share how I made it.
