Britney Spears at the 2001 MTV VMAs Costume

I always loved Britney Spears's "I'm a Slave for You" performance at the 2001 MTV VMAS, so I decided to recreate it. I found the swim top in white and dyed it the green color, it turned out much better than I anticipated. I bought the big jewel that goes in the middle at Hobby Lobby, but they have similar ones at Jo-Anns. I bought the high waisted shorts online and painted them with fabric paint. I knew I had to find a snake, it took me a while to find one that was rubber and not stuffed. I think it looks better with a rubber one, more real. I sewed buttons on the shorts and attached the chains to the buttons. I also attached sheer fabric with feathers to the sides of the shorts as well. I wore nude high heeled boots. To top it off I added a sparkle glitter tattoo.
