This homemade costume for boys entered our 2017 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Latreace, the 'Boombox' costume creator:
My little one was excited about watching videos from what he states as "back in the day. He loved LL Cool J look and thought the Boom box was the coolest thing, so we decided to make him a Boom box and dressing him in 'LL COOL J's attire.
Used a wardrobe box, silver spray paint, juice tops as the small knobs, laundry detergent tips for the larger top knobs, cake pans and cabinet lining for the speakers, a mini bluetooth speaker for sound and look, and a small string of battery operated lights for added details. The rest was all hand drawn on (Fm/Am portion was just a bunch of numbers I printed off and so was the cassette tape). Pretty easy to make he win 1st place at every contest he went to.
