Bioshock Little Sister Costume

This is me wearing my bioshock little sister costume! I am a huge fan of the bioshock games and franchise and have a HEAP of collectibles and limited edition items from the game. The only thing I was missing was a costume and since it works pretty well for Halloween I decided it was about time I got my act together and made one!

I started by making the adam syringe. A few years ago I decided I wanted to make one of these so I sourced a 1950's gas pump handle off ebay. Since then it had been sitting in a box in the garage (whoops!) I pulled that out and sourced a bunch of other plumbing parts, a dowel rod and a baby food jar and loosely followed the BRILLIANT tutorial put together by 'Voplin Props'. Next up, it was time to tackle the dress. I made a pattern off a dress I already had that was similar, made a few minor adjustments and sewed it together. That left me with a very clean and tidy version of the costume...
DISTRESSING TIME! I took to it with some scissors, a cheese grater, sandpaper, a TON of coffee and some fake blood, then went out and rubbed it all over my dusty car and gravel driveway!! :D

Lastly i made a spur of the moment decision to stitch a 'D' ring to the side so I could tie my Big Daddy doll to the side of the dress (I was wearing this outfit to a convention and wanted at least 1 hand free!). The Big Daddy doll was the only thing I didn't make myself as it was a game replica I already had in my collection.

The costume was SUPER comfortable to wear (although did still smell pretty strongly of coffee :/ )and went down a hit at the local pop culture convention! can't wait to wear it again for our Halloween party!
