A word from Renee, the 'Beauty and the Beast' costume creator:

This is me and my husband, he is such a good sport and always plays along with my antics. I picked beauty and the beast this year because its my favorite disney movie and we were going the a "ball" themed party. I'll start with his costume, he is wearing a wig that we had to purchase on amazon, his horn are completely homemade he used small plastic cups and wire to construct a horn structure then he covered with aluminum foil and paper mached them and painted them when they were dry.we purchased the blue suit coat from goodwill for $3 and then he took a white shirt and yellow fabric and made a vest using the yellow fabric and then fabric glued it to the white shirt, he even put pockets on the vest and for added detail he sewed button onto the vest. He is wearing black dress pants which he already owned. His face was done with black eyeshadow. Now for my costume belle, i used a yellow dress as my base and sewed yellow tule to the sleeves and a rose, i used elastic and yellow tule from joanne fabrics to create my tutu, i cut the tule into long strips and looped them onto the elastic band to form a tutu (this took the most time). Then i took a brighter yellow tule and sewed it to the lighter strips of yellow to created the draping effect that belle has on her dress and then i sewed roses onto the brighter yellow tule. I curled my hair and put it in a half bun like belle wears her hair. I had a small comb in tiara from our wedding a few years ago that worked perfect! I also had rose earrings, a rose ring and a necklace. I did my make up using some yellow eyeshadow and red lipstick! I am beyond thrilled with how our costumes came out i truly felt Like a princess and we got so many compliments and pictures taken of us!
