Tom Arma's Fantastic Baby Costumes

Article by: Coletta Daniel

Tom Arma Baby Costumes are all the rage these days. They can be spotted on Magazine covers, Television Commercials, Calendars, Greeting Cards, and Posters. He's even had his Babies dressed in Animal Costumes express his echological concerns by making a series of Greeting Cards and Posters called "Please Save the Animals" in 1990.

As a young man Tom Arma started out as a staff photographer for a large New York Newspaper. After several years of covering REAL news; the good news, the bad news, and even the ugly news...and recieving many a journalism award for his talents and his trouble, Tom requested to be put in the Magazine section of the Newspaper. It was then that he did some of the most memorable of his photo shoots of some of the most famous Actors of the day. Clint Eastwood, Michael Caine, and Jack Nicholson are a few who sat in front of his camera.

After many years and as many deadlines to meet, Tom decided it was time to strike out on his own and he opened his own Photo Studio. He worked on Magazine and Advertising Photos and became quite successful shooting Magazine Covers and shooting successful campaigns for Fortune 500 companies.

In 1972 Tom Arma found his calling when he began working with the beauty and innocence of small Children and Babies. After the very first assignment doing a Baby Photo he was HOOKED! Because Tom had Ecological concerns and he wanted to do a project to draw attention to the plight of our animal friends, he came up with the idea for putting the children/babies in Animal Costumes and photographing them. He actually designed the costumes himself.

Bottom-line is that Tom Arma is a FANTASTIC Costume Designer and Artist. His Photos AND Costumes are sought after in many circles. He has published 30-some books of Babies in his Animal Costumes and his Photos are seen world-wide. He now has a large line of Baby Costumes for sale and the choices are unbelievable....everything from Bugs to Fruit to Gorillas.
