Arabian Night Costume

Jasmine is my daughter Gabriella, her twin brother Grayson is Aladdin, dad is the genie, and mom is Jafar.The rug Jasmine is in is made of a sheet of styrofoam insulation cut to the size I wanted. I then covered it with fabric that looked liked a rug and cut a hole in it for her to stand through. A black plastic table cloth was hot glued around the edge of the board to cover up her legs to make it look like she was sitting on the rug. Then I stuffed a pair of tights and put them in the legs of the costume, and used two way tape to attach the legs to the rug. A pair of suspenders was glued to the rug for her to be able to walk around in it. The genie costume was bought at a store and I added a lamp attached to his shoe and put tulle with cotton hot glued to it, tied to his legs to look like smoke coming out of the lamp. The Aladdin costume was store bought with the hat made of red felt. Jafar was made out of a cape, a Jafar hat, and a red scarf tied around my stomach to complete the look.
