A word from Stephanie, the 'Alice in Wonderland' costume creator:

This year my best friend and I decided to do a group costume (and we had our husbands join us) we picked alice in wonderland....it has been done before, but there are so many possibilities of imagination and that is the wonder of wonderland!
The white rabbit required ears, nose , and hand sewn vest with long tails. Some details of the vest include a pocket with royal cards in it for the queen of hearts, a boutineer with a small clock and teacups. I sewed a fancy scarf too. I also made a giant cardboard pocket watch.
The alice dress required blonde wig and black headband. I hand sewed a giant black bow for the headband. I also sewed the dress and apron. I wore a Victorian necklace and attached a painted red rose onto the apron. My shoes were $2 at the goodwill, but, I added chess pieces and other alice looking miniatures to them. I was also wearing bloomer shorts under the dress that had mushrooms as the fabric print.
The mad Cheshire Cat was also sewn by me. The top was colored blocked with pink and purple and zipped up the back. The skirt is a full circle skirt made of amazing purple, silver, and pink fabric. I made a giant tail that had a ribbon attached to a bracelet so it did not drag on the ground. The fuzzy boots were goodwill as well, but we sewed on the claws. Purple metallic leggings with pink duct tape completed the look.
The mad hatter was a complete thrift haul from the good will except for the wig/hat. He has his scarf, bag, ruffles, mismatch, and everything to complete the look!
The make up was all done by me.

We had so much fun together! It was mad!
