A Bad Case of Stripes Costume

While looking through a box of my old books my daughter Haylee found the book "A Bad Case of Stripes" and got very excited! She couldn't believe I used to read a book that her class just read in school the previous week! It was her idea to be this for halloween!
I started by painting stripes on a longood sleeve leotard and leggings to use as her "skin". Once that was on I had to fill in the rest of her body to match. We painted her feet. Hands, neck, and face! I then used an entire can of blscm hair spray to get her hair dark enough! She is normally very very blonde so she was hardly recognizable with the black hair and eyebrows! We added the white tank top and shorts like the character wears and of course her blue cup and thermometer because the girl is sick in bed. My daughter stayed in character and whenever someone asked for a picture she made her sad sick face!
