90s Queen Latifah Costume

I am wearing the costume. I attended an old school hip hop Halloween bar crawl and accordingly decided on Queen Latifah. I based my outfit on her appearance on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I spent approximately $40 on materials (I already had some things in my stash). I used bottom weight fabric for the suit and African print cotton and heavy sew-in interfacing for the hat. I also used bias tape for the detail on the sleeve and collar of the jacket. Patterns used: McCall's 7552 for the hat, Simplicity 1421 for the jacket, and Simplicity 1887 for the pants.
