A word from Kristy, the 'Ursula & Litttle Mermaid' costume creator:
I am wearing ursula costume. Homemade used copper wire inside and cotton and i bought material black and purple and cut them into triangles. I had a black skirt and a black strapless bathing suit top. I purchased a wig from goodwill and fixed it to my liking. bought body and face paint lavendar and painted my skin. I made my trident from cardboard there was no template so i free handed it. i got wax paper and traced it then flipped it to make sure both sides were the same. I cut four tridents out of the card board and hot glued them together. I already had some gold spray paint. First I spray painted the trident then i used modge podge to put some glitter on it because it dries clear. I also bought the shells for my necklace and earrings. I spent $8 on the earrings and $3 on the shell. i spray painted my shell gold and used the modge podge for the glitter then i traced around the circle in black permanent marker. I also had my husband drill holes so i could put a string through and make it a necklace. The earrings i painted purple and used modge podge to put some purplish glitter on them. had my husband drill holes in them as well. My crown waqs made from cardboard and i purchased a childs play crown for $1 at the dollar tree. i used wax paper again and traced one side on it and flipped it over and used it for the other side so they would be even. Then i glued the card board to the crown and spray painted it. and modgepodge and glitter again. The little mermaid costume however was store bought and i purchased the wig on ebay.$15 the starfish for her hair i purchased at hobby lobby they already came painted for $5 and i used modge podge and glittered them and put alligator clips on them.
