A word from Christine, the 'Toddler George Washington' costume creator:

My 2 year old requested to be his hero, George Washington for Halloween. For some weird reason I couldn't find a costume anywhere, so I had to make one. I bought a tan boys suit from the thrift shop and replaced the buttons with shiny gold eagle buttons. I made a jacket with tails and a ruffled dickey. I bought a child sized colonial wig off of amazon. The boots were the hardest. I ended up buying boys black dress shoes from the thrift store for $1.50. Then I went to the fabric store and made leg shells (legwarmers) out of faux leather and snaps. When they went over the legs they looked just like boots. Everyone loved it, and he still wears it to play in.
