This homemade costume for girls entered our 2013 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Melita, the 'Tinkerbell' costume creator:
I did the Tinkerbell costume for my 6 year old daughter, Jemimah Miel. She wanted us to buy her a fairy costume in the mall, but it was way too expensive for our budget. The top is an old stockings and also the wings, the skeleton of which are two cloth hangers. I put old laces and sequins on the wings. The skirt is scrap curtain fabric. The shoes are made of scrap fabric also, old ribbons and the flowers are from her old shoes. All are hand sewed. The wand is a Christmas gift last year. I did not spend anything doing this costume. I made all these for about two days, after doing my daily chores. It was really fun doing these things for my daughter. She loved it so much.
