The Butterfly Catcher, Butterfly and Caterpillar Family Costume

Mom, Dad and Baby Caterpillar. I made the costumes. The butterfly was made with a large sheet of felt glued around a coat hanger shaped like wings and the colored shapes cut out of felt were hot glued on. The antennas are pipe cleaners attached to a headband. My face was painted with glitter paints. The rest of the costume was a black long sleeved shirt and leggings.

The Butterfly catcher is wearing a Hawaiian shirt and shorts and has a butterfly net.

The baby caterpillar costume was sewn using green fleece into a "sleeping bag" (with arm holes) and velcro-ed down the side to open and close. it is stitched across the front to look like the sections of a caterpillar. The hat was sewn with the same green fleece and has small "antena" glued to it (made of black felt). The circles on the front of caterpillar were cut out of white felt, outlined with permanent marker and hot glued to the front of the costume. The baby is wearing a green shirt and green socks to match the color of the costume.
