This homemade costume for families entered our 2019 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Ekaterina, the 'The Whydah Gally Crew' costume creator:
Black Sam was the captain of the Whydah ship that was wrecked in Cape Cod on April 17, 1717. All the crew members died. Bullet was shot in the head and left on the sinking ship (bullet whole was made of molding scarwax). Patch had his throat cut and saw his captain being blown up (patch was made of fabric and applied to the eye with spirit gum). The Hang Man was tied to cannen ball (made of foam ball) and thrown in the see to serve as food to the seq creatures. Prosthetics were all hand made with natural shells, seaweed, and latex.
