Steampunk Ursula Costume

Steampunk Ursula was inspired by a single image I saw on Instagram once, although she has evolved into something quite different. The pieces she is made of were imagined and created by hand, by me!! I tried so many things for the first time. Leather and metal working were a blast to learn and easy to pick up.I also acquired a bunch of new skills for my electronic components, including UV lighting, soldering, and creating voice activated lighting bits!! I did a lot of re-purposing too. The bustle is made from wire hangers and duct tape, the tentacles on the hat started as full size pool noodles and the tentacles on the bottom are made from toy snakes and craft wire! I also got to try my hand a full body paint both regular and UV reactive! All in all, I am super proud of this piece and I feel the time (200+ hours) I put in was totally worth it!
