A word from Marybeth, the 'Stan Musial Statue' costume creator:
Gavin loves the St. Louis Cardinals, and his Grandpa even played professional baseball. He is only 7 years old, but he already loves the game. Gavin wanted to be a Stan Musial statue for baseball (although he poses as a righty for the photo). It took roughly 2 weeks to make his costume. We used 6 cans of spray paint, in the colors of bronze and gold (to give it an aged look). The clothing, made up of baseball apparel, including a Cardinals jersey, had to be painted on both the outside and the inside to give it a stiff statue look. This took multiple layers to achieve, and it was even hard for him to put on. We ordered gold and bronze body paint from Amazon, and the costume came together wonderfully. He had more fun than ever, and would pose outside of houses before saying trick or treat. Time well spent for the smiles!
