This homemade costume for families entered our 2012 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Renee, the 'Spaghetti & Meatballs' costume creator:

Three month old Tobin is wearing his spaghetti & meatballs costume for Halloween. Prior to his birth I worked for a catering company, so selecting a food was a natural choice. We also liked the portability of being able to tote baby around in a pot :)

I created it using a onsie a couple of sizes larger than he normally wears, yarn, and pompoms. Accessories included red & white checkered pants made simply with fabric found at JoAnn's, and a parmesan cheese container with a bottle inserted for when Toby got hungry.

Costume was made by sewing individual strands of yarn into a line in three rows up the body of the onsie. Pompons were then sewed on. Red felt was sewed to a baby hat, then yarn and pompoms were added in the same manner. Overall cost was about $15. My husband and I donned aprons and chef's hats to complete our family's overall look.
