This homemade costume for families entered our 2017 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Carrol, the 'President of the United States and Secret Service' costume creator:
This was our son's very first Halloween at 8 months old, so we wanted to design a costume around a baby carrier. We want him to dream big in life, so we thought, why not make him President of the United States? We'll stand by to protect him as Secret Service.
We bought a presidential-looking navy suit for him, but with his chunky thighs he was only able to fit into the jacket. No worries! His legs would be hidden behind the podium anyway.
The podium is made from a cardboard box, navy fabric, and a color printout of the presidential seal. It's affixed to the baby carrier with fabric straps.
We kept the Secret Service costumes simple with black outerwear and white tops. We added aviator sunglasses and earpieces for an official touch.
