Pint-sized Predator Costume

Here's a pic of my 8 year old son @HurricaneHoldy in our HOMEMADE "pint-sized Predator" costume. It took about a month of Saturdays to complete and NOTHING that appears on the costume was store bought or not modified in some way to fit the overall concept. Also, I AM NOT A MAKE UP ARTIST. I just LOVE Halloween and making costumes!!! We started with a surfer wet suit that we "sculpted" musculature on with liquid latex, cotton batting, and paper towels. The mask was sculpted on an old hockey helmet and cast in plaster. We then poured liquid latex into the mold and let set until dry. In the meantime, we bought used sporting equipment from a local use sporting goods store and painted with metallic colors. We assembled everything in a kids sized mannequin and painted everything with an airbrush. Finishing details included moving pincers, working lights, leather sandals from the local thrift store, and painted gloves and socks. The costume was a big hit at all of the parties and trick or treating... :)
