Oscar the Grouch Costume

I am wearing this costume I made. It took a lot of trial and error, but I was very happy with how it turned out in the end. To make it I bought shiny silver fabric. I sewed long seams to make it look ruffled a bit, and kind of like a garbage can. Then I took a very large embroidery hoop and sewed it into the bottom to give it the shape I wanted. I sewed elastic into the top to make it like a skirt. Then I took a green shirt and cut out pictures of garabage and mod lodge it on the shirt to look like it was coming out of the can. I bought a green beanie and to that I attached the lid I fashioned out of the other part of the embroidery hoop, cardboard, gray paint, and foil for the handle. Then I attatched felt and fur to my glasses to make the eyes and covered myself in green face paint and success! People's reactions were my favorite, followed by much laughter!
