Mini Maleficent Costume

This is my daughter, Lucia, who just turned 7. Up until this year, she wanted to be a princess. But not anymore! Makeup is the key to making this costume work. She has blond hair, so we had to be careful with the color. To get that porcelain look, we combined white face paint with Ivory foundation to get the desired effect. The cheekbones are a huge part of maleficence look as well, so instead of using a prosthetic of some sort we tried to do heavy shading underneath of the cheekbone. The eyebrows are arched and thick using a black eye pencil. For the eyes, we used a base of deep purple and black for the eyeliner and mascara. For a finishing touch, we used fake eyelashes cut to fit her little eyes. If you're dealing with light colored hair, be prepared to give yourself plenty of time to spray on the color. You must do it in shades and get darker until you get the desired effect. She was so incredibly happy, but I have to say it was pretty difficult. We definitely had a few do overs, LOL.
