A word from Nikki, the 'Medusa' costume creator:
I got to be the one to wear this costume! I wanted to do something unique and scary this year. I've always had a love for mythology and as I was browsing ideas, it was like a light bulb went off...MEDUSA! I was shocked at how little I could find as far as costumes go for Medusa, so I had to get creative. I found a bunch of awesome "bendy" snakes at world market for around 4 dollars each. I played with the snakes by bending them around my head until I found a way to get them all in there in a cool looking way. I hot glued hair clips to the snakes once I found their position on my head. And then I basically teased the crap out of my hair and moved it around all of the snakes to make them look like they were coming out of my head. For my make up, I used a fish net stocking and placed it over my head and then applied several green shades of eyeshadows with a blush brush to get my snake skin effect. I found some pretty cool tattoos online that look like your skin is torn and snake skin is coming thru and placed those on random parts of my body. The fangs were from halloween express and super easy to put on. The top was one I already had from charlotte ruse, the leggings were from costco and I made my "skirt" from an old nun costume I found at goodwill. So much fun!
