Mary Poppins and Bert Costume

My husband’s favorite movie as a child was Mary Poppins. We finally took our first family vacation ever two years ago to Walt Disney World. We took pictures with Mary Poppins and introduced our children to the original movie. This year, my husband and I decided it was time to dress like his childhood faves, especially after watching the most recent Poppins movie, “Mary Poppins Returns.” So this year, my husband and I dressed up together as Mary Poppins and Bert. We went out and about together and had a blast. Thankfully, we found most of the clothing items at Goodwill, and Mary’s hat was found on clearance at JCPenney. The decor for the hat was found at Hobby Lobby and hot glue gun took care of the hat’s decor. The black umbrella was a Wal-Mart find for under $5, and my husband made the felt parrot out of several pieces of felt found at JoAnn’s. That involved a bit of sewing. But the $30 or less cost is what made our costumes even better!
