A word from Bonnie and Beth, the 'Labyrinth: Jareth the Goblin King and Baby Toby' costume creators:

Phoenix and Gryphon are dressed as characters from the classic Jim Henson movie “Labyrinth”, in a tribute to the late great David Bowie. Gryphon is dressed as David Bowie’s character Jareth, the Goblin King. We even tried to recreate his classic make-up look with dog-safe makeup. He is wearing a white blousey shirt, with the arms stuffed. We stuffed black gloves as well, and attached them to the ends of the sleeves. We then stuffed gray pants, and attached them to the bottom of the shirt, so they hung down over the dogs’ legs. He is wearing a spikey blond wig and he is holding a magical crystal that can show you your dreams. He is seated in a throne, which we specially created to look like the one from the movie. We covered a large chair with a brown shower curtain. We then cut out a foamboard curlicue shape, which we painted to look like wood, and attached gold rope, twisting it around here and there. For the little goblins by his feet, we decorated little dolls with plastic eyes, tiny shirts, and we glued hair on their heads. We made one of them a little spikey hat out of silver posterboard and a paper bowl painted silver. Phoenix is wearing an illusion costume so that he is taking on the role of two of the characters. We created this costume to look like the character of Sarah when she wears the fancy dress at the dance, as well as the character of her little brother, baby Toby. To do this, we decorated a mannequin head and torso. We added long brown hair with fancy hair clips. We then attached them to a white dress. We cut a hole in the dress for Phoenix to wear over his head while wearing the dress, and stuffed and attached the striped baby onesie right under the hole in the dress, just like Toby wears in the movie. We added a matching cap for Phoenix to wear, and a pacifier for him to hold in his mouth. This was a very complicated scene to put together, but a lot of fun! “Dance magic dance!”
