A word from Kathryn, the 'John Deere Combine' costume creator:
Ace Snyder, Age 3
My son is in love with combines and insisted on being one for Halloween. This was a fun idea for both of us to do together.
We used a diaper box, shoe box and trash bag box for the body. For the "unloader" was wrapping paper tube and toilet paper tube.. For the corn on the top back storage bin a piece of felt and yellow pompoms were used. The front header was a baby wipe box and the left over pieces were glued in a circle to make the cutters for the header. I purchased "Joh Deere Green" paint from Home Depot and used black chalk paint for the header. Everything after paint was dry was hot glued together. Suspenders were used to hold box on. Yellow duct tape for the yellow stripe down the sides. Battery push lights at the local dollar store for the headlights.
Final cost: roughly $35
