A word from Harmony, the 'IT Georgie' costume creator:

Gizmo, my almost 13 year old pomeranian wanted to partake in all the clown shenanigans so I had to get out some tools and lots of hot glue and start building. Over all, the whole think took about 50 hours from start to finish. It's constructed with a thin piece of plywood with pipe fasteners attaching it to a flat dolly. I used recycled boxes from dog food deliveries to construct the curbs along with blocks of Styrofoam inside the curbs for added support. The balloon is constructed using a dowel with a dog toy for big dogs that just so happened to be a red egg but passes perfectly as a balloon. I used plexiglass at the end where he would sit for added safety when the cart is in motion to prevent him from falling off while still making sure he was 100% visible. The mask is the only thing I didnt make, I purchased it, added a pillowcase along the edges so I could use foam to stuff it to give it a real appearance. My favorite as every outdoor dog themed costume must have, the firehydrant. For this I used an old oatmeal container, 1 tube from an empty roll of paper towels, part of a disposable cup from taco bell and scrap cardboard from the curbs. Shaped all the materials to resemble a firehydrant, lots of hot glue, topped off with bright red spraypaint. The grass is a green yoga mat I picked up at the thrift store. Total cost was for the wood, plexiglass, all the screws and pipe fasteners, hot glue, paint for the road, curbs, dowel and firehydrant, the mask was $77.
