This homemade costume for women entered our 2012 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Christina, the 'Ice Queen' costume creator:

The dress is a cheap wedding dress I purchased off ebay, the crown was made with artificial plants, wire, and a christmas ornament from Hobbby Lobby for under %13.00. The cape was purchased on ebay, and jewelry on ebay. Makeup I did myself with UV white contacts and fake pixie eyelashes. The face and chest area were constant UV glitter, cannot see the effect on pictures. People said the feathers on the cape gave the costume this spooky aura look, and the glitter and eyes, made my approach to them seem aggressive and scary!! It was a huge hit!!! OH yea, that is my real hair, curled and sprayed white. The gloves are silver with rhinestones, and most the rhinestones on dress I put on myself.

What did you use to keep the crown on?

#8 comment by Christina Duncan October 26, 2014

The crown was actually made with a fake plant and wire from hobby lobby, the piece in the center is a christmas ornament we broke up a little, then used bobby pins to put it on. Trust me, that is my real hair and the hairspray kept it on.
