A word from Jennifer, the 'Headless Bride' costume creator:
My 9 year old daughter is wearing the costume. She wanted to be a headless person of some kind for Halloween, so we went to Goodwill and found a wedding dress. We started with an old backpack, 2 wood dowels from an old crib and three 2 liter pop bottles (for the neck and shoulders). We built the torso strong and put the dress over it and it fit perfectly. The arms and chest are a pair of panty hose stuffed. Continued to add bugs, spiders and an owl and then came the blood. This costume was fun to make and people seem to love it! My daughter came home from trick or treating and said "So many people went and got their cameras to take pictures!". That was a first!
