Mickey Mouse Costume

My two-year old son, Jack Cottingham, is wearing his most favorite thing in the whole world...Mickey Mouse! He obsesses over Mickey Mouse, so I had no chance on trying to get him to dress up anything other than Mickey (although I wouldn't want to because he is definitely the cutest Mickey I've seen!). Jack's costume was pretty easy to do, simple yet adorable! I pieced this outfit together with a few things I already had on hand. I used black tights that I had of my daughters when she was younger, a black long sleeve shirt, and some old crocs. I had to borrow some solid red shorts from a friend because I didn't have any and couldn't find any in stores since we are in the winter months (but that's ok, that just meant I spent less money!). I took the shorts and hemmed them around the legs because they were a little long. I bought the tail at Dollar General, I think it was actually part of a cat costume, it cost about $3. I bought some big white buttons and sewed them onto the shorts along with the tail attaching it to the back of the shorts. I also bought the Mickey Mouse ears and gloves from Party City as an accessory kit for about $15. Finally I used face paint to color his nose black, spray painted the crocs yellow and I had my little Mickey Mouse put together! The costume cost around $20 and everyone loved it! Mickey is always a favorite for Halloween because he is a Disney Idol and EVERYONE is familiar with him. But with our DIY touches he totally made this an original look!
