This homemade costume for families entered our 2013 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Brandi, the 'Flintstones' costume creator:

I made these costumes for my family. I made all of them with out any patterns. I am Wilma. My costume is made from jersey knit fabric and dyed my hair! My husband is Fred. His costume is made from broadcloth and felt. My two year old son is Bam Bam, his costume is made from broadcloth and felt, with a strip of fur and a bone made from Crayola model magic, my 9 month old daughter is pebbels, her costume is made from broadcloth as well with hand dyed baby bloomers, and a bone made from Crayola Model magic. I love the Flintstones and thought this would be the perfect idea for my family. I just used my imagination and a sewing machine!

How did you dye the baby's hair?

Did you make a headband with the bone and fake pony tail for your little girl and if so how?! or did she just have that much hair. I have a 1 yr old and we actually have matching red hair and my husband has black so we totally thought about going this costume!

Did you dye your baby's hair? What did you use?

These are wonderful! Great job.

What did you use to color your baby's hair? I want to do a color but i'm nervous about chemicals and permanent stain. Thank you!

Anyone figure out how she made the hair headband?
