A word from Steven, the 'Butterfly Dream' costume creator:

I am both the designer of the costume and the person wearing it.I am a lover of high fashion and the fantasy and excitement and fun Halloween inspires people of all ages to be. I love animals and the beauty nature offers. For years I have used butterflies in designs. These were hand cut hand painted and embellished and placed on thin wires "in flight" and perched. The "dress". Was constructed by some left over fencing that I cut ,shaped, and painted and covered with a sheer flower patterned fabric. The "collar " was made of mesh fencing shaped and covered with fabric, trim and beads and sequins.the headdress base was a construction hat chicken wire,( can you tell I live on a small farm.) the horns were covered by fabric and the vail was beading, sequins, lace and trim. The heels were made of an older pair of 4 1/2 inch heels modified by screwing 3 layers of wood scraps that were shaped and covered with fabric and a base bird mask.Lots of hot glue ,and hand sewing and sculpting and led lights help pull the avant garde look together. Took about 50 or so hours to create. Loved every minute!
