A word from Whitney, the 'Greek Goddess Athena' costume creator:
I'm wearing the costume myself. I came up with the idea because my boyfriend wanted to go as Aries, God of War, so I decided to go as Athena, Goddess of War and Wisdom. I bought my costume from Halloween Express as well as the wig. The costume came with a headpiece, but I added an owl charm to it because owls are associated with Athena. Also, I sewed 3 brown charms in the shape of a triangle on the front of my costume as well as owl charms on either side in the front. I bought my shoes from goodwill and painted on the charms to create a medal look. Also, my staff was made by using a bamboo stick wrapped in black electrical tape with a belt used as a tassle, 3 napkin holders as ornamental decoration which held a candle holder which also had a tea light battery operated candle inside of it with an owl attached to the top. The owl has Athena's word association which is "A", "O" with a dot in the center, and "E" painted on the back of it. I'm also wearing a helmet that has been fiber glassed to fit my head. The shield came painted the way it is but I added an owl which was originally a candle holder.
