A word from Marisela, the 'Gizmo' costume creator:
My son Matthew is wearing the costume, I like making costumes from older movies or unusual characters. I used a onsie pajama he hardly used, I bought 1 yard of brown & 1 yard of white faux fur. The brown was actually lighter so I dyed it with orange Rit dye. I let it soak in the dye for about 40 mins mixing it every 5 mins & drying it with a blow dryer. I used a picture of the original gizmo to guide me on how his body looks like. I started with the front white and going down to the legs cutting out the pattern than sowing it onto the onsie. After I moved on to the brown from the shoulders down to his back cutting and pinning it down to the onsie so the fabric wouldn't move, after I sowed it onto the onsie, finally I did the arms. The mask was purchased online. Matthew wore white socks & white shoes.
