Ghost of Antebellum Costume

I am the ghost of antebellum a spirit from the past. I was inspired by the large grand gowns of the past. It is Halloween of course so I cannot just be some beautiful confection I wanted something just a little sinister and spiders and bugs where the answer. There is a painting by JMes C. Christensen it is a fantasy of gothic beauty and beetles. I shopped local thrift shops for 3 wedding dresses and silk flowers. Spiders, bugs and the felt web I used in the dress where from various places like dollar stores and hobby shops. I painted everything that as not white with white paint, as well as pearlescent and glitter. It toned down the color of the flowers to something that coalesced into this very lovely costume. It was so fun to wear. Happy Halloween!
