Game of Thrones Khaleesi Costume

This is my Khaleesi (Daenarys Targaryn) Costume from Game of Thrones. For the skirt, I cut the fabric into the right shapes and sewed it around a stretchy belt I bought at the thrift store to make it stay up. The lighter skirt fabric is from ugly clothes I found at the thrift store and cut up. I bought the fabric for the top at a fabric store on clearance and sewed it together. For one of the belts I cut out a lot of cardboard circles, punched holes in each one, painted them with green and gold paint, painted a piece of string, and wove it through to create a belt that ties in the back. For the other belt I cut out carboard ovals, painted them, and hot glued them to a thrift store belt. I cut the gloves out of brown fabric from a thrift store skirt. I found the boots at a yard sale for one dollar and they worked perfectly. This is the most complicated thing I have ever made and I have never done any sewing before besides hemming pants, but I could not be happier with the way it came out! Overall cost was about $40 after the thrift store clothes, paint, fabric, boots, and wig.
