Feronia, Queen of the Fairies of Change

Feronia is the bringer of change. She is of the forest and delights in the deep, rich colors of autumn. Her staff lights the way for the new life path to begin.
The Fairies of Change are sent to the human world to help give strength when life is taking a different path. Feronia carries a bag of gems on her belt. These gems are fairy calling cards. She hands them out to the humans she encounters. When they need it, all they must do is hold their gem and say, "This change is tough, but so am I. I am afraid, but I am strong. I just need a little fairy magic to help me along". Feronia will dispatch a fairy to them to provide strength and light the way toward their new path.

This costume began as a 'dress and corset' idea, but the more I worked on it, her true character evolved. The dress is simple. I used a single cut of fabric sewn into a 'tube' with elastic at the top. The corset was a fitness waist trainer that I laced with ribbon. The staff is made from a tree branch in my yard that had fallen during a storm. The stones are from a stepping stone craft project my kids and I did.
