A word from Julie, the 'Enchanted Mermaid with Jelly Fish' costume creator:

I always wanted to be a mermaid but thought a regular mermaid was boring so as I shopped the Christmas Picks at Michaels last year I came up with this great costume. I bought a regular bra and fabric for the mermaid bottom. I sewed in 12 led light packs to the bottom half and 3 led light packs to the bra. Then I sewed on all the glitter picks to top and bottom. I then added shells and long sequin stands to mermaid skirt. I made a head piece with sequin stands and added 1 strand of led lights too. For my Jellyfish I took a regular clear bubble umbrella that I found at Walmart. I then added 4 light packs to the umbrella. The top led light pack blinked. I covered the umbrella with 2 different types of fabric. I added the glitter leaves, glitter fish and a large octopus to the front. I also added glitter sequin strands as tenticles. I am not sure what the total cost was but I know I spend $150.00 in lights alone. ;) Hope you enjoy my costume as much as I did.
