A word from Alexis, the 'Emmy Award' costume creator:
My last name is Emmy so my students asked me to be an Emmy award this year. I painted my body gold and wore a gold leotard, gold leggings, gold flats, and gold skirt. Then I made the wig by using a beanie that I painted gold and then hot glued gold curly ribbon to it. The wig probably cost $35 to make. The ribbon wasn't cheap and I needed a lot. Then I made the wings out of foam board and the "atom" that the emmy holds out of garden tubing hose and foam balls that I spray painted gold. I took up 4 seats on the bus! The atom cost me about $15 to make. The gold paint I used for my body was about $10.
I had a lot of fun because everyone wanted to take a picutre "winning an emmy"!
